Accessibility Statement

Last Updated: December 2023

At Inclusively, we believe that everyone should be able to access and use our platform with ease and without barriers. Accessibility is an ongoing journey within our product development and we are committed to continuous improvement of our processes, education, and execution to break down those barriers for our users.

Please visit this page for the latest updates on the current state of accessibility processes, procedures, certifications and tooling from the Inclusively product team. We will also post any upcoming events on this page so continue to check back!

Compliance Initiatives

Inclusively is committed to facilitating and improving the accessibility and usability of its website, www.inclusively.com. Inclusively strives to ensure that its website services and content are accessible to all persons with disabilities including users of screen reader technology. To accomplish this, Inclusively has partnered with UsableNet Inc, a leading web accessibility consultant to help test, remediate and maintain compliance standards set by the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990.

Current State:

How do we currently approach accessibility when building our product?

Design:

  • Figma contrast design plug in tool
  • Use of a component library of approved and tested accessible components
  • Review of user feedback already received and consider this especially when redesigning an already existing page

 Development:

  • All Front End engineers use multiple tools in their development:
  • React-axe-core: used for front end code bases allowing developers to identify accessibility blockers during the development phase and reduces the escape of those blockers into released features
  • Axe dev tools browser extension: designed for front-end developers and testers to run quick in-browser tests any time. The extension generates detailed information on accessibility defects/violations and how to fix them quickly.

Testing & Feedback:

  • Use of different assistive technologies during testing phase
  • Feature testing  with a focus on an accessible user experience- work with a group of individuals who are part of various disability communities and remediate based on user feedback

Tooling:

What are the tools we use to make our platform accessible?

Design tools:

  • Figma contrast plug-in for all UX designs

Coding tools:

  • Developers use a linting tool called the eslint-plugin-jsx-a11y plug in (static)- this helps developers check for accessibility compliant (a11y) rules within the code and ensure we aren’t breaking those rules
  • Lighthouse in Chrome (rendered) is used to check accessibility rules within web applications at the code level

Testing tools:

  • Playwright with the Axe Core plug in installed to run automated accessibility tests
  • Manual testing with various assistive technologies

Future State:

What are our commitments for continuous improvement to our approach to accessibility?

Design:

  • Continued development of our accessible component library and building out our design system based on that library
  • Adoption of Axe core plug-in for Figma for design phase

Development:

  • Implementation of the following tools:
  • Axe Core in CI (Continuous Integration)- go even further with automation of final check prior to code deployment, and add more end-to-end-testing
  • Add axe Dev Tools Intelligent Guided Tests in QA-Before releasing new features to our customers, a final QA process using the axe Dev Tool Intelligent Guided Tests will take place. This will further ensure the overall accessibility of larger features using a consistent framework for accessibility testing.

Education & Training:

  • Continued education for all developers through further training with the Axe Dev Tools product suite

Testing & Feedback:

  • Please email us at [email protected] to report accessibility issues, questions, or suggestions
  • Enhanced Accessibility page on the Inclusively webpage which will now include status updates around accessibility and tooling
